The Ensemble Project

In October 2013, I produced a series of videos and photos for Indre Viskontas—a neuroscientist and opera singer—as part of a research project sponsored by the Germanacos Foundation and the San Francisco Conservatory of Music. The research explores the relationship between music and empathy and involves several musicians, so I wanted these videos to make viewers see them as real, relatable, interesting people—not just incredible, unreachable musicians up on stage.

Here’s an example of one of those videos: an interview with pianist Keisuke Nakagoshi. I also made the accompanying website.

Rebecca Versus

In April 2014 I produced this series of videos where Rebecca Watson plays video games with people.

Speaking of Rebecca Watson, I’ve also produced a bunch of vlogs for her—like this one about Theresa Caputo, the “Long Island Medium.”

Inquiring Minds

Science Podcast

In September 2013, I led a team to create and launch this weekly science podcast, which has topped the iTunes science charts and was chosen for the iTunes Best of 2013 List.

With two talented hosts and me as producer and editor, Inquiring Minds is an in-depth exploration of the places where science, politics, and society collide. The show is produced in partnership with the Climate Desk, a journalistic collaboration consisting of The Atlantic, Center for Investigative Reporting, Grist, The Guardian, The Huffington Post, Mother Jones, Slate, and Wired.

Point of Inquiry

Science Podcast

From 2010 to June 2013 I produced the weekly Point of Inquiry podcast. During that time, it was consistently a top iTunes science podcast, was ranked a “Top 10 Podcast To Feed Your Brain” by Business Insider, and was recommended by The Telegraph.

2013 Documentary Work

I worked on a few documentaries in 2013, including a series that is currently in post-production featuring Jon Ronson, Richard Wiseman, and Rebecca Watson. This video features some excerpts from that.

Living Without Religion

Nonprofit Campaign Video

In 2011, I produced this video to accompany a nationwide billboard campaign meant to give hope to people who felt alone in their lack of religious belief. The video was shown on several major news networks.

Joe Nickell Investigates

In 2011, I produced a few videos for skeptical paranormal investigator Joe Nickell. In this one, he explains the chupacabra myth.

American Freethought

Historical Documentary

I was the director of photography for the 4-part historical documentary American Freethought (2013). I shot all the interviews featured in the film, and contributed several motion graphics elements. Here’s the trailer.
